Our Mission
We are on a mission to explore and illuminate the reasons behind our thoughts, actions, and emotional patterns. By harnessing the transformative power of the Enneagram, we seek to guide individuals on a journey toward lasting personal growth — cultivating self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a deeper sense of empathy. Whether someone is inside or outside of prison walls, our work is about building bridges through understanding, healing through insight, and growing through shared human experience.
Our Vision
Freeing people - all over the world - from the prisons of our own making. It is our vision to bring our compassionate curriculum into every jail and prison worldwide.

Our Philosophy
We help people to remember what is right about them. All human behavior is an attempt to feel loved. We believe that it is our right to have autonomy, to know our worth, and to feel safe and secure. When our basic human needs and rights have been unmet or worse, violated, there is an intelligence underlying our impulses and reactions. We bring understanding to the motivations which proceed behaviors — compassion for the why before the what, because we cannot change what we do not first understand.
Our Method
Our approach is to help incarcerated people to navigate those inner terrains — the unconscious motivations that drive behavior — we know — underlie virtually everything we do. We use the Enneagram system of personality to offer those we serve a conscious understanding of themselves and others, while also navigating their inner terrain. We do this by reflecting the light we see in them back to them, while lighting a path they can reliably follow. We empower folks to find their way back to their innate intelligence and wisdom, to remember their best selves.

Our Format
EPP offers group-facilitated programs for incarcerated people. We train formerly incarcerated folks to be excellent program guides and mentors. Our curriculum — like our guides — is trauma-informed. Due to the unstable, vulnerable nature of the prison environment, we use a contained curriculum method which honors the order, structure and integrity of our work so that people can begin to heal themselves and live their lives.
Our Culture
At EPP we see the light in people. We understand that hurting people hurt people. We also know that when given a safe space, skilled guide, and an incisive tool like the Enneagram, we can transform our thoughts, beliefs, and habits. We can also transform our family, community, society, and system for incarcerating humans. We know this because we witness these changes daily. We are dedicated to helping people recognize, and then gently, examine what is driving them.

EPP Core Values
Our core values are the foundation of everything we do. They guide our relationships, shape our programs, and reflect the heart of our mission — to support transformation through compassion, connection, and courage.
